Abstract

Today, with the increase of population and the uncontrolled growth of cities and the advancement of technology and the consequent destruction of the environment, the living conditions of many living beings have become difficult, which has caused man to move away from nature and lack comfort and tranquility; Biophilic design by facilitating and improving the quality of human communication with nature around it, using global sustainable design strategies tries to control environmental degradation to environments with improved social and cultural conditions, along with creating the ability to understand and process and benefit from past experiences. Create to ultimately improve the quality of urban life. In his extensive research, Professor Beatle has identified Oslo as an ideal city for biophilic urban planning. For this purpose, in this research, by considering this city as a model and adapting this city with Moallem Boulevard in Ramsar city in order to improve the condition of the boulevard in terms of biophilic urban planning, the present article tries based on descriptive-analytical method and To evaluate the measurements qualitatively and by describing, analyzing and interpreting the contents, to provide effective solutions on improving the quality of the environment with the approach of environmental perception in biophilic urban design. The results show that Moallem Boulevard in Ramsar has the potential to achieve biophilic urban design based on a comparative study with the city of Oslo, and by using the components of environmental perception and biophilic design, proposes plans to improve the quality of citizenschr('39') environment And created visitors.

Abstract

Environmental attitudes are recognized as an indicator and component of      environmental behavior. There are many theoretical and empirical approaches to investigate attitude towards environment in the respected literatures. Most of the studies related to this issue have been conducted since 1970 onwards when conceptualization of environmental attitudes as a scientific research concept gained closer attention by researchers. Environmental quality was one of the most critical subjects of environmental attitude studies.  The formation, maintenance, and reproduction of social relationships generally occur in a spatial context. Social science has been the potential interpenetration of action and space for individual and social behavior. One approach to this subject has been taken by those working within the framework of environmental quality. This article is mainly concerned with the role of environmental quality on social relationships. The main question of the present research is, whether environmental quality have any influence on social relation or not? It seems that there is significant relation between the quality of environment and social connections. In order to examine the above hypothesis, one of the Mashhad’s neighborhoods was selected as the case study. This neighborhood has been located respectively in the zone 1 / region 2 of the city of Mashhad. Then the variables were determined and defined. There were two main variables in this paper. To evaluate the first variable (environmental quality) some indexes were determined. Also to evaluate the second variable (citizens’ social relations) several indexes were chosen. Then a questionnaire was prepared and data were collected. Finally the responds were analyzed by SPSS. The empirical results deriving from the data show that there are certain strong influences of the environmental quality and social relation. So, the hypothec of the investigation was accepted. It means that in the area under study there is a meaningful relation between social relationship and environmental quality.

Abstract

Aims: Urban streets and highways are the expressions of the visual environment, and urban streets facades are the main elements influencing the urban environment's quality. On the one hand, murals as Urban Art can play an influential role in improving the quality of the urban facades. On the other hand, maintaining facades with murals is one of the principal challenges for city managers regarding financial dimensions and workforce. This study aims to provide a solution to maintain the quality of the facades in urban highways with murals because highways face many problems compared to other urban spaces due to difficult conditions in the implementation and maintenance of murals.

Methods: This study investigated using TiO2 photocatalytic nanoparticles to maintain murals on urban highways. For this purpose, the cost of implementing murals with self-cleaning and non-self-cleaning materials versus cleaning costs facades for ten years was calculated. This comparison has been made on the facades of Imam Ali Highway in Tehran.

Findings: Cost estimates show that using self-cleaning paints and coatings containing titanium dioxide reduces the need to clean the facades over time. Furthermore, this will reduce economic and workforce costs and keep the urban facades of the highway clean and the quality of the urban environment improved.

Conclusion:
TiO2 photocatalytic nanoparticles can raise the durability of murals and reduce their maintenance costs. This is a promising solution that can execute the aspirations of city managers in maintaining the quality of urban facades.

Abstract

Many studies have investigated the effects of economic growth, energy consumption and foreign trade on the pollutant emissions due to fossil fuels combustion. The consideration of financial development together with economic growth results in significant differences among findings. This paper examines the effects of financial development on environmental quality of Iran during 1973-2007 using an ARDL (Auto Regressive Distributed Lags) model. According to the results, the negative coefficient for financial development index shows the adverse effect of financial development on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Therefore, it is expected that increasing financial development will reduce the CO2 emissions.

Abstract

Promotion of tourism quality in framework of sustainable development purposes is one of the important subjects of rural planning. This study methodology is practical by analytical approach and required data gathered based on document studies. In depended variables of study contain rural environmental quality dimensions (functional, punctual and perceptual, aesthetical and formal, ecological) and depended variable contain rural destination environmental perception indexes and intellectual image from rural destination dimension contain variables such natural beauty, rural calmness, rural pleasant, rural sincerity that had been used in questionnaire designing too. Rural tourist of Rood bar ghasran rural district from Tehran province was the sample community of this study that 160 tourist in 15 rural points had been analyzed as sample study. Result of study show that perceptual values of environment and positive intellectual image of tourist in destination rural was acceptable in all dimensions with high level of meaningfulness and with regard to the good condition of environmental quality in destination rural area. This correlation had been approved by Pierson correlation test among environmental quality dimensions and environmental perceptual and tourist intellectual image of destination variables. Also, by attention to gained result of regression test, could been deduce that aesthetical and formal quality variables had most affect on tourist perceptual values from environment (with 0.541beta coefficient) and positive intellectual image creation (with 0.514beta coefficient) from samples view.
